The Relationship Between Entrepreneurship and the Social Sciences

It’s extremely rewarding to take action and turn one’s ideas into a lucrative business. Entrepreneurship can help people ukpip.org/how-to-structure-a-data-room-for-ma-transactions-in-a-few-steps build careers that are directly in line with their values, like helping others or preserving the environment, and thus bring a psychological and emotional sense of fulfillment that many other jobs cannot.

Entrepreneurship is a complex social phenomenon that involves intricate interactions between humans and their social contexts which they live, work and play as well as learn. It is therefore often regarded as a significant area of study in the social sciences. It is also an inter-disciplinary field that draws from the disciplines of sociology, management, law, anthropology, public policy and not-for-profit management.

We outline the research in the entrepreneurship of non-business students in this article and propose a framework for existing research that is based on the four dimensions of learning through social networks – observational-learning, the role played by peers and mentors, the entrepreneurial ecosystem, as a platform for social-learning and institutional influences. We then examine how this framework could be used in a more systematic fashion to guide research and development of entrepreneurship education in the future. We also present an in-depth bibliometric analysis supported by VOSviewer and Bibliometrix which reveals the most renowned authors, institutions and countries, seminar papers journals, themes, and seminar articles. This allows for a comprehensive and deep understanding of the present situation in the field. The analysis also informs on potential future areas for research and the gaps in knowledge that must be filled.
